I Will


So weary was I,
that my eyes were blinded
and I could not see my way.

Trouble seemed to meet me at
the door, every single day.

Trials and tribulations escorted
me every where I went.

Until one day,
the darkness broke,
the storm was moved
and the pathway was made clear.

I heard the voice of thunder speak to me;
and no it was not a dream,
although it seemed.

I was wide awake in the midnight hour
when a voice spoke to me:

"Rise up, child, and walk with me. I am your
guide in the darkness. I will lighten your heavy
load. I will carry your burdens. I will calm your
fears. I will heal your wounds. I will ease your pain.
I will cover you. I will uplift you. I will comfort you.
I will never leave nor forsake you, because I love you."

And with that being said,
I felt a strong sense of peace come over me.
My heart was made glad and my soul rejoiced.
For the Lord our God has saved me,
and now I am free!

Enter Not Into...

I have to constantly remind myself that some people are NOT worth me getting out of character for. It doesn’t matter who they are, what they are doing or what they may have said… they are not worth a reaction from me. Yes, it is easier said than to do. It takes practice, self-discipline and mental reminders not to give in to the negativity and stupidity of others. If find myself always having to correct myself or repent because of my words, thoughts or actions regarding how others make me feel. Sometimes I am so angry! I feel hatred in my heart. Not Good Enough

What do you do, when you're not good enough, Your patience goes unnoticed, you're not appreciated and taken for granted? You are never forgiven, respected or appeased. You are merely the object of negative attention, put downs, reminded of your failures and shortcomings. Never to be desired, pleasing, protected or loved. Where do you go, when the gravel beneath your feet begins to slip and the pathway become cloudy, foggy and gray. What words can be said? What actions can you take? What sacrifice can you make? When you're not good enough, you always fall short and it seems you'll never meet the expectations.

Unity

Recently I made the statement “black people are the only race that doesn’t unite.” I know a few people disagreed with me. For the ones who disagree, let me elaborate. I still stand by what I said. However, when I made that statement, what I was referring to was when things are NEGATIVE or BAD. The only time we are known to unite is when we feel we’ve been wronged or some sort of injustice has been imposed. Just as so many of us only pray to God when things are bad and forget about Him when things are good. For example, Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, we protested together (but also tore up our own communities). Why does something horrific have to happen for us to unite? How come we don’t unite when things are going well? You may say we do. But, how often? Do we publicize it? Do we talk about it? Do we share it?
